Use Our Tips to Strengthen Your Child’s Weak Tooth Enamel

Posted .

Tooth enamel is a shield that protects the teeth. If it’s compromised, there is a chance the tooth could suffer dental issues, like tooth decay and enamel erosion. Sometimes children’s tooth enamel become weak. If this is the case for your child, it’s best to do all you can to treat it.

Our dentist, Dr. Nidal Obeid, is happy to help your child’s enamel by asking you to turn to fluoride. Fluoride is a mineral that dives into your teeth and strengthens and nourishes the enamel. You can access fluoride by using fluoride toothpaste (but make sure your child is old enough to use fluoride toothpaste), bringing your child into our office for a professional fluoride treatment every six months, and giving your child fluoridated water from the tap.

To prevent this from happening once again, you should expose your child’s teeth to fluoride (like mentioned before), stay away from giving them acidic foods and drinks, and bring them into our office for a routine dental cleaning and exam every six months.
